Have you ever wondered why Jesus shared this statement with his followers? Jesus depended on the Holy Spirit to "see" the heart attitudes of people. Pretty handy, right? Well, the heart attitude that he was "seeing" collided with the reality of living in the Kingdom he was establishing. Jesus always focused on helping others align their character and priorities with his own. Cultivate the proper heart attitudes and the priorities will soon follow.
Jesus was advocating a lifestyle of choosing disciplemaking friendships over activity. Accumulate experiences not posessions or activity. One surefire indicator of whether or not you're living this way is stories–stories of being WITH your friends.
Healthy leaders accumulate experiences not posessions. Experiences translate into stories. They have plenty of stories to share (ask 'em) because they've chosen friendship over activity. How are you doing with your accumulation of experiences?
